Congratulations to Poland, who win a really fantastic match end to tie break against the United States! See you tomorrow for details! Poland will play tomorrow for World Championship Gold against Brazil, which won the other semifinal against Serbia.

POLAND-USA 3:2 (25:22, 20:25, 23:25, 25:20, 15:11)

Step by step, the reigning champions Poland beat USA to claim the final, and now they are one step away from defending the title they won in 2014! After a fantastic battle in the semifinals, Poland have claim the ticket for the final where they will meet the same rival as in 2014: Brazil! So, it will be a remake of that final.
Vital Heynen has come to lead this generation to one more medal. Gold or silver? This evening the match will surely a show.

About the semifinal, Bartosz Kurek and Michal Kubiak led the reigning champions to the finals, having both a really amazing performances. Simply, USA didn’t have any solution for them in the tie-break, even if it was a very balanced match. Kurek ended the match with 29 points, while Kubiak added 22.
USA had a 2-1 lead, and they didn’t manage to keep it. In the tie-break, Poland had an advantage 10-3, but thanks to Daniell McDonnell with great serves, USA decreased the lead of the rival until 11-9! However, Kurek ended the scoring run of the USA which created a huge opportunity for Poland to end the match and conquered (deservedly) the victory.
Anderson and Sander with 19 points each, followed by Russell with 18 points were the best scorers in John Speraw’s team…
