Yesterday defending champion SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob won the first duel of the DenizBank AG VL final series against Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel, winning in four sets in the JUFA-Arena Bleiburg with following scores: 25:20, 25:21, 17:25, 25:18.

Especially with the service, the hosts managed to put in a difficult position the rivals in the first two sets. In the third set, the favorite lets its guard down, Waldviertel took more risk on the filed and was rewarded. However, Aich/Dob played more concentrated and could close the match in four sets.
Already a year ago, the two teams were facing each other in the fight for the championship title!
Top scorers on the winning side were Matej Mihajlovic with 18 points, followed by Max Landfahrer with 13 and Matej Kök with 12. Lukasz Szarek with 14 points, Lars Bornemann who scored 13 and Rudinei Boff with 8 where the top scorers on the other side. Attack points 46:36, aces 9:8, winning-blocks 6:9 and errors 31:31. The match lasted 96 minutes.
The second clash of the best-of-seven series will take place on Sunday in the Stadthalle Zwettl and the start of the game is again at 8.25pm.
