#Russia: ЧЕМПИОН РОССИИ – Kuzbass Kemerovo breaks down Zenit’s 5-year domination to win a historical title!

Yes, it’s true! Kuzbass Kemerovo defeated Zenit Kazan in Game 4 of the Russian Championship playoff finals and won the series by a 3-1 to become the titleholders for the first time in their history!
The second seed Kuzbass Kemerovo defeated the leaders of Zenit Kazan at home in Game 4 of the 2018/19 Superliga finals by a great 3-1 (21:25, 25:19, 25:22, 25:23) to win the national title which is the biggest success in the club history.
Before this moment, the highest achievement of the Kemerovo team was a fourth place in the 2017/18 Superliga. But this year, the team lead by the Finnish head coach Tuomas Sammelvuo ended five-year domination of Zenit Kazan in Russia. For the first time since the 2014/15 season, the regular season winner did not take the title.
In this Game 4, Viktor Poletaev, inspired in the final series against his former team, had a good performance scoring 28 points, including 3 aces, while Maksim Mikhaylov scored 19 points for Zenit.
